• OVERVIEW

tuto-Prom® is an innovative, transparent coating which provides a dual protection against graffiti and other heavy soiling. First of all, it makes it difficult for paints, marker inks and sprays to adhere to the surface onto which it has been applied.

And any graffiti that does remain can be easily cleaned off using standard cleaning agents. The tutoProm® coating is resistant to acids and slightly alkaline cleaning materials. Not even graffiti remover solutions will damage the protective coating.

  • FEATURES & BENEFITS

    Efficient protection for many surfaces

tutoProm® forms a highly transparent protective layer, which does not affect the surface or the appearance of the substrate material. It provides effective protection against paints, varnishes and other substances and also against weathering and ultraviolet radiation. Since the cured coating has no negative effect on the flammability properties of the substrate, it is extremely well suited for public buildings and transport. Due to the ultra thin coating (of a magnitude of micrometers), the protective layer is extremely light and economical – particularly when used to cover large surface areas.

    No chance for graffiti

Have you got graffiti on a surface that has been treated with tutoProm®? No problem. The protective coating will ensure that paints and sprays are unable to adhere strongly to the surface. The colours will run and can be removed very easily and quickly. And this is how it works. Simply spray a standard graffiti remover or cleaning agent onto the affected area and leave it for a short while. The unwanted substances will soon dissolve, and can then simply be wiped away with a soft cloth. If necessary, the process can be repeated to remove any last remaining traces. In the case of particularly stubborn materials or on vertical surfaces, we recommend the use of cleaning gel. Scouring agents and polishes should be avoided, as should sharp-edged implements and steel wool, since these can damage the protective coating and the underlying surface. It is also possible to use a high-pressure cleaning machine. In this case, it will be necessary to maintain a distance of 60 centimeters to the surface and to direct the water stream so that it hits the surface at a low angle. This makes it even easier to remove the soiling.

    Thin Coating – Perfect Protection

Surfaces to be treated with tutoProm® must be clean and dry and free of grease. The protective coating can be applied by paint roller, or with a soft cloth or spray can. A cloth is recommended for small areas and a roller should only be used for matt surfaces.

A coating thickness of around ten micrometers will provide optimum protection. This requires no more than ten to fifteen milliliters of tutoProm® per square meter. Outdoors, the coating dries within at least one hour and cures completely after seven days. The curing process accellerates at higher temperatures. It is completed in one to two hours at 130°C.

The coating should only be applied out of doors or in well-ventilated rooms, and well away from any potential fire sources. Optimum working conditions are attained at temperatures within the range of 5 to 30°C, without direct sunshine or rain. We recommend the use of protective clothing (gloves, goggles, breathing mask).

tutoProm® must not be mixed with any other fluids. Liquid tutoProm® should be stored in a cool, dry place, well away from any potential sources of fire. It will keep for six months if stored in its original packaging.
