AZ Electronic Materials is a manufacturer of specialty performance chemicals used primarily in the graphic arts industry. Products include web pretreatment chemicals, diazo compounds, various polymers, and other materials to formulate coatings for use in the production of offset printing plates and color proofing films.
A full line of high-end positive and negative diazo compounds is available in conjunction with diazo-capped novolak resin. A series of polymers is also offered for coating applications. These polymers are not lightsensitive, but may be functionalized to generate specific characteristics for the desired performance, ie. thermal plate or CTP application.
Typical positive tone resins are condensation products of cresoles, xylenoles and paraformaldehyde (novolak). For negative tone application, the offered resins are typically modified Polyvinylacetal (PVA) and Polyvinylbutyrale (PVB) compounds.
